This project is important to me because it is about cities that I didn't know about two or them, and it helps me with comparisons. In English I make comparisons all the time, so I suppose that it is important to know comparisons in Portuguese too.

Historical Fiction Story Reflection
In humanities class, we were assigned to write a historical fiction story taking place during Apartheid. We had to have it have something to do with the Soweto Uprising. So, immediately, I had an idea:
What if a white person became friends with a black person, and the black person went to the uprising?
It seemed like a good idea, but I needed to have a reason for them to meet. LIGHT BULB! How about the white person is very curious and she wonders why she can't go to one part of town. That seemed like a good idea and I ended up using it.This story kept building and building and eventually it was that I wasn't just doing this for class, I actually enjoyed writing this story.
The learning targets were:
The learning targets were:
- I can engage and orient the reader.
- I can use narrative techniques to describe experiences, events, and characters in my historical fiction.
- I can use transitional words and phrases to move my story from one moment to the next.
- I can accurately depict how Apartheid affected the lives of South Africans.
- I can use the conventions of writing to communicate my story.
I have lost track of the rubric so I don't know which one I did best at. Sorry :(
Cells Predicted
In Lab 8 we will look at two "new" types of cells: Lettuce and Spinach leaves. What will they look like?
I think that these cells will be like brick walls, because they are plant cells, but I have a feeling this is a trick. Because of this I am thinking maybe it'll be a wall made of ovals (is there such thing as a wall made out of circles?).
I think they will also have chloroplast because they are leaves and leaves are made to perform photosynthesis.
The jobs of the cells will be to do photosynthesis because they are leaves

Metacognition Project Reflection
Doing this project, we had to record ourselves solving a math problem. We had to talk while doing this to tell what we were thinking or doing. But we also had to think about our thinking, like 'Why do I do this?' or "Why does this work like that?' This improves us as mathematicians by helping us notice our mistakes, and being able to support what you think by mathematical facts.
Argumentative Writing Reflection
For the final project in Humanities we wrote an argumentative piece about our opinion of the Three Gorges Dam. I personally am very bad at argumentative writing, so I got a bad grade , but here's what I was good.
One learning target I hit was "I can choose the best words to express my argument" LVL 4. This means that I had very clear vocabulary. Some words I chose to put were like instead of using 'big' or 'huge', I used colossal and, you know... stuff like that.
The other learning target I hit was "I can use correct capitalization, grammar and spelling to send a clear message to send to the reader" LVL 3. This one is actually pretty self-explanatory because it obviously means that I used grammar and spelling and punctuation right. I had minor errors that don't really harm my writing but are still there.
The other three learning targets I failed badly at like "I can write and develop an evidence-based claim", "I can support my claim with relevant evidence", and "I can organize my writing in a clear and coherent manner".
I grew by doing this because I learned how to choose words, better words like I explained up there^

An annoying thing about blogger
You know that time where you wanna start a new paragraph and your last one ended right on the end of the space to write you know... And you think it's the same paragraph but its not kinda like what just happened here
And look!! I just started a new paragraph but it looks like it's the same one!!!!! Annoying right? But if you press TAB it justs takes your typey thingey off the screen.
You have to press space like 5 times.
So blogger, if you are reading this, please include the TAB button on blogger so we can indent.
