Literature Discussion 3 Analysis and Reflection SUPER FUN :D

Refelection

I think me group and I did a good job on using evidence from the text.  Whenever someone had a claim BAM! someone sles had evidence to support or disprove that claim.  We did get off topic and ramble off about things.  But we got back on topic again eventually.  Camila read ahead but didn't talk ahead, and that was good.  The group was different, to say the least.  Peter was writing down what everyone said most of the time, but when he talked he said very useful things.

Analysis

I remember that on page 66 Tukkita said that Kiwani had seen a Punhana bird.  Punhana bird = death.  So I think that maha will die in 7 days because she saw the bird after Kiwani, and it is said that the first one to see it is the messenger, the second one is the dead one.  Tukkita is the shaman of the village by the way.  Another reason I think Maha is going to die is because I always guess the opposite of what spoilers tell me [>:( Henrique].  But in all seriousness I think Maha will die because the whole story is based on Luka finding out who his Paho is, and him dieing would ruin the story/  Also, it can't be Luka because he's telling us the story now, isn't he?  If he's telling us then he must have not died.  Unless he's a ghost, of course.

Bringing The Boy Home 2nd Discussion

Literature Circle Discussion Reflection

Today in Lit. Circles we were inclusive.  No one talked more than another by much, we let everyone talk, and we talked ourselves too.  We were very deep in our discussion.  One example is that I said "You want to do what you need to do, which means you do it and if you don't do it you are mad because you want to do the thing you must do" or something along those lines.  Deep, huh?  We did better at being inclusive and deep than we did last time, and that is GOOD!  But we can still get better at keeping on topic...

Bringing the Boy Home Analysis

On page 20 a voice randomly pops into Tirio's head and says "Hello?  Tirio?  Can you hear me?".  I thought at first 'He's thinking that, not being told'.  Then I realized that on the back it said that the paho sent visions to their sons to pass the 6th Sense Test.  It's Tirio's dad, mayhap?  Yes, it most definitely is.  But then I said ' How does the paho do that?  Is he telepath?'. The world may never know...

Evaluate Tutorials >> New Light Bulbs In Plain English

Hello, it's Eric and I'm back to posting.  It's a new school year and that means new assignments on the blog.  So here's my first post this year.

My 1:1 Toolkit teacher asked me to watch a tutorial and evaluate it.  I'm going to tell you what I think was helpful or good about it, and what was not helpful or bad about it.
One helpful thing about the tutorial was that it listed all the bad things about using a regular light bulb.  It burned more coal, which makes you pay more money, and lets pollution into the atmosphere.  A good thing was that the drawings were great.  The way he used those drawings was also good.  One unhelpful thing was that he re-explained things many times.  Not helpful, but not necessarily horrible either.  He was very specific about everything he said.
I think that this tutorial was really great!  And I hope you think it is great when you watch it using the following link: New Light Bulbs in Plain English
